We went to the zoo today with the rest of the population of Utah. Becoming an adult kind of bites because the magic of things diminishes greatly. My memories of the zoo were of this magical land full of animals and yummy junk food. Now the adult me that goes is thinking: too hot, billions of people, animals smell funky, there is the yummy junk food, don't touch anything there are a
gajillion germs, and $1 per ticket for a 3 minute train ride - are you kidding. But it is all worth it to recapture some moments of the childhood magic by watching our kids so amazed and delighted by everything. I have now come to realize how wonderful and special that magic really is. Watching those sweet little faces makes me glad I'm a mommy.

Why can't Sophie be big enough to enjoy those things yet. You'll just have to have another kid so she has someone to go to the zoo with.
